Graham-Patten Systems announces another addition to the popular SoundPals line of audio building blocks. The SDDM-8 Audio SDI de-embedder provides a versatile way to ingest the 525/625 SDI-TV standards and de-embed eight channels of audio from any two of four groups.

The SoundPals HDDM-8, an HD de-embedder, debuted at NAB2005. Customer reactions to that product were so favorable that Graham-Patten decided to develop its sibling, the SDDM-8, in time for IBC.

The new SDDM-8, in the signature 5.25 by 1.625 by 6.625 inch SoundPals aluminum package, features active-looping SDI inputs and eight line-level or user selectable –6dB channel outputs on Phoenix connectors. Two-channel headphone monitoring is possible, with independent volume control and channel selection.

Early user response is positive, explains Leonard Dole, ISIS President. “We decided to build this product after receiving many requests at NAB. Customers saw the HDDM-8, and began asking for an SDI version. That’s our favorite product design strategy – supply what our customers ask for!”

Graham-Patten will display the SDDM-8 at the IBC show in Amsterdam in September with Argosy Cable (booth 10-445); Argosy is the European representative for Graham-Patten and ISIS products.
