Salt Lake City,UT (February,
2002)--Graham-Patten Systems' D/ESAM 8000 audio mixer was selected
for use by the National Broadcasting Company (NBC) in the 2002 Winter
Olympics Games held here February 8 - 24, 2002. NBC used a total
of 16 D/ESAM 8000's at the International Broadcast Center (IBC)
and at various venue editing facilities to provide more than 300
hours of coverage.
"The editors were
very happy to have the Graham-Patten mixer in the edit room,"
commented John Henkel, D/ESAM 8000 Product Specialist. "Most
of them have used other D/ESAM mixers before, but even those that
haven't were up and running in no time. They loved the beautiful
control panel, movable faders and all the great D/ESAM features
including auto-channels, stereo faders and just the overall ease
of use."
The D/ESAM 8000 builds
on Graham-Pattens long history of post-production audio mixers
and at the same time takes advantage of the VADIS technology engineered
by the parent company, Klotz Digital. The D/ESAM 8000 is an 8 channel
mixer, equipped with 8 input, 8 program, and 8 preview busses, allowing
customers to use all tracks of the new 8 channel video tape recorders.
Capitalizing on the
newly developed SDI input card customers can take all 8 embedded
SDI audio channels from the video tape recorder and bring them into
the D/ESAM 8000 on just one cable. No auxiliary equipment is necessary:
installation costs, wiring time, and equipment costs can be reduced
dramatically.
The D/ESAM 8000control
panel incorporates two LCD screens: one for metering and one for
touch-screen operations and status, bringing visual ease to edit
control, where typically, functions have been buried in menus.
