ISIS GROUP RECEIVES ORDER FOR ELEVEN D/ESAM 230 AUDIO MIXERS
Taiwanese Broadcaster Chooses Graham-Patten Mixers for New Project
Grass Valley, CA (July 21, 2010) – The ISIS Group has received an order from the Taiwan Broadcasting System (TBS) for eleven Graham-Patten D/ESAM 230 audio mixers. The mixers will be used by the Public Television Service (PTS), a national non-commercial television network that is owned and operated by TBS.
Graham-Patten audio mixers have been the standard of the video post-production industry for more than 20 years. Their architecture and operation is identical to that of a video mixer, and all of their functions are serially controllable using the industry-standard protocol developed by Graham-Patten. In 1991, the company received an Emmy® Award for engineering excellence in development of the first D/ESAM mixers. |

Video Editing To Go
Location Edit Supplies State-of-the-Art Editing on Site
Grass Valley, CA. At 5:30 Sunday morning, Kenyon Blower uploads the American Motorcycle Association Supercross race video to CBS and the Speed channel, after spending all night in a long white trailer editing the video. “That deadline is firm, so it is imperative that everything works. And everything has performed flawlessly from day one,” says Blower, founder of Location Edit, LLC.
Blower chose to include two Sonarae audio monitor systems from Graham-Patten Systems in his mobile post-production system. “This is a first-rate, state-of-the-art non-linear editing facility. I researched very carefully to make sure I had the best solution for audio monitoring. Graham-Patten has a great reputation with their D/ESAM mixers, and I was impressed with the Sonarae quality. There were other ways to go, but I didn’t want to have some Rube Goldberg setup. Sonarae wasn’t the cheapest solution, but it turned out to be a very good choice.” |

Graham-Patten’s Sonarae A STAR at IBC
TV Technology Selects Audio Monitor for Award
Grass Valley, CA. The Sonarae audio monitor from Graham-Patten was chosen for the TV Technology STAR Award (Superior Technology Award Recipient) at IBC2008. Of the hundreds of products displayed, only twenty-five were chosen for this honor.
“I’m thrilled that Sonarae was selected,” said Leonard A. Dole, President of Graham-Patten Systems. “Sonarae makes such a unique contribution to the post-production editing process. It is the first product designed to allow engineers in an NLE environment to monitor audio quality, without distortion and without changing the audio. It is certainly gratifying to see our industry recognize Sonarae’s value.”

Graham-Patten's Sonarae Garners NAB2008 Pick Hit Award
Panel Selects NLE Audio Monitor for Recognition
Grass Valley , CA . Out of the hundreds of new products introduced at NAB2008, just 40 were selected by a panel of industry professionals for the Broadcast Engineering Pick Hit Award. The new audio monitor system for non-linear edit suites from Graham-Patten, Sonarae , is in that select group.
Sonarae is rich in features that audio engineers have been craving. For example, with up to eight AES/EBU pairs of inputs with complete input selection capabilities, one can select from single channels or accumulate channels into a stereo or mono mix-down format, while maintaining the level at the output at a constant value, or select individual stereo channels for easy access to multi-language audio tracks. Operators can listen to individual left or right audio channels at the output or select various channel combinations; and choose 5.1, 6.1, and 7.1 surround sound stereo mix down along with set-up, learn, and clear functions to store custom stereo mix-down formats. |

ABC-TV CHOOSES GRAHAM-PATTEN D/ESAM 8000 MIXERS
D/ESAM 8000 Included in HD Edit Bays
Grass Valley, CA. The ISIS Group, Inc. reports that three Graham-Patten D/ESAM 8000 Digital Edit Suite Audio Mixers are now part of the HD operation at the ABC-TV headquarters in New York City. In 1998, ABC-TV built their first two HD edit control rooms. During the day, the rooms were used to edit and create HD content. Then in the evening the rooms changed function, and became on-air control rooms.
Now the D/ESAM 8000 is part of those rooms, used with the Editware editing control system and a Ross Synergy production switcher. ABC-TV required a custom interface to allow the mixers to meet the needs of on-air usage. The interface allows the Ross Synergy to control the D/ESAM 8000s in the on-air environment.
